Overview

Swike

Swike came to us with a bold vision to build a new kind of social media experience where content rises purely on merit, not money or noise. No ads. No influencers shouting over each other. Just a clean, gamified way to swipe and vote for the best content. And we were all in.

We partnered closely with the Swike team to bring their idea to life from the ground up, developing fully native Android and iOS apps that feel fast, fun, and frictionless. From dynamic swipe animations to real-time ranking logic and tight user controls, every part of the app was built to deliver that “just one more swipe” feeling.

Our dev team handled the entire mobile stack from UI/UX design to backend integrations and cloud deployment. We implemented custom algorithms to handle the swipe vs swike logic, built secure user auth systems, and optimised everything for low-latency performance.

The app additionally needed to scale to guide viral increase and content moderation with out breaking the vibe, so we made positive the backend architecture changed into geared up for it.

Swike is a new form of content environment, and we’re proud to have engineered the tech at the back of it. It’s stay, it’s slick, and it’s converting the way creators get visible.

Problems

Most social media platforms today are loud, algorithm-driven, and dominated by influencer culture. They’re designed to reward the biggest voices, not necessarily the best content. Creators with real talent often get buried under ads, sponsored posts, and artificially boosted trends. The playing field isn’t just uneven, it’s completely rigged.

1. Lack of Merit-Based Content Discovery

Traditional social media platforms depend on followers, likes, and paid comments to promote content. This limits the opportunity for unknown creators to be determined based on the fine in their content material. Swike wanted to turn that model and create a level field, no commercials, no influencer bias, simply head-to-head content battles.

2. Complex Gamified Interactions

Swike’s entire concept was built around a swiping duel of two posts shown side-by-side, where users “swike” their favourite. Sounds simple, but behind the scenes, that requires real-time syncing, custom content ranking logic, and smart handling of swipe interactions, all with low latency and zero lag.

3. Multi-Platform Performance Challenges

The app needed to work easily across both Android and iOS, with a steady user enjoy, immediate load times, and seamless animations. That intended building highly optimised, local-like reviews on each platform, the usage of React Native, and great-tuning overall performance for each device type.

4. Moderation Without Comments

Swike removed the ability to comment to keep things positive and troll-free. However, that brought its challenge: how do you maintain high engagement while still giving users control? We had to design intuitive UX flows with clear feedback loops, Firebase Analytics tracking, and a reporting system that works.

Lack of Merit-Based Content Discovery
Solutions

Solutions Implemented

Swike fixes these issues by giving a fair, fun social media site made to let creative work stand out. It does not let ads, biased algorithms, or big influencers take over. The app aims to praise good content alone, with quick swiping matches and a clear, simple screen that puts all the focus on the content itself.

UI/UX Design

Minimal yet Impactful Interface

  • Swike's design strategy was a minimalistic UI with each pixel serving a purpose. The feed is replaced by a card-based dual-screen, which eliminates the noise associated with traditional social media clutter.
  • The colour scheme and typography were selected to create visual contrast, helping media pop on-screen without overwhelming the user. Every action, from a swipe to a leaderboard view, flows naturally without extra clicks.

Visuals That Drive Competition

  • Since Swike is built on content, we designed visuals that fuel excitement and competitiveness. Leaderboard badges, ranked progress bars, and animated vote counts provide rapid feedback on performance. These micro-interactions keep makers and viewers engaged.
  • Smooth Lottie animations offer a quality touch while keeping transitions snappy and lightweight, ensuring that the UI does not jitter even under heavy load.

Fast, Fluid User Journeys

  • We reinvented navigation for speed. There is no deep menu digging; swipe, swike, switch topics, and check rankings all happen with a simple tap or gesture.
  • The software was thoroughly tested to guarantee that swiping feels instant, with no lag interrupting the user experience.

Creator-Friendly Upload Experience

  • For content creators, the upload process is streamlined into three quick steps: select media, tag a topic, and post. We kept the design clean with large preview areas, easy crop tools, and instant publish confirmation.
  • Performance metrics and rankings are displayed in simple visual formats so creators can instantly gauge engagement without needing complex analytics knowledge.
